Cheniere Energy replaced a complex, infrastructure-heavy AP automation environment with AP Express—reducing costs, eliminating legacy infrastructure, and simplifying AP automation around Oracle E-Business Suite.
THE CHALLENGE
A More Efficient AP Process.
A Legacy AP Platform Had Become Expensive to Maintain. Cheniere Energy's previous on-premises AP automation environment had become increasingly complex and costly to operate. The system required 11 dedicated servers and two full-time IT contractors to support integrations, patching, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance. Despite years of configuration, AP still dealt with manual data entry, inefficient scanning processes, limited visibility, and frequent dependence on IT to resolve issues. Cheniere wanted a modern, cloud-based AP automation platform that could integrate deeply with its Oracle E-Business Suite environment while reducing infrastructure and improving the experience for both AP and IT.
THE SOLUTION
AP Express + Oracle E-Business Suite
Cloud AP Automation Built Around Oracle EBS. Cheniere selected AP Express for its combination of deep Oracle EBS integration, cloud architecture, invoice automation capabilities, intuitive user experience, and Nivo1's ability to adapt the solution to Cheniere's requirements. The move also gave Cheniere a more direct support model, with its AP team able to work closely with Nivo1 rather than relying on multiple layers of internal technical support. Moving AP Automation to the Cloud: with AP Express, Cheniere eliminated the infrastructure associated with its previous AP automation environment—including 11 servers and the related maintenance, patching, and security-testing burden. AP Express reduced manual invoice handling and eliminated inefficient processes involving manual population, attachment updates, and rigid scanning formats. Two IT contractors were redeployed to other strategic initiatives. Cheniere also developed a close working relationship with the Nivo1 team.

$100K+ in Annual Savings: Cheniere reduced server and maintenance costs by more than $100,000 annually and eliminated licensing costs associated with legacy OCR and automation tools. Costly Upgrade Projects Eliminated: the previous environment required upgrade projects that had cost approximately $300,000 each. 11 Servers Eliminated. IT Resources Redeployed: two IT contractors were redirected from AP-system maintenance to higher-value strategic initiatives.
